One month already!

Rory turns a month old today. This morning I woke up thinking about how quickly this month has gone, how quickly she is growing and how each day a little more of her personality shines through. And let me say that she has a very demanding and bossy personality about her - stubborn too. We can't expect any less though considering her family tree ; ) We have been having some issues with her wanting to stay awake when it's time for bed at night or she has to be held to fall asleep (then when you put her down she is back up!) Well last night was by far the most stubborn she has been about going to bed - it took a good two hours of walking, feeding, rocking and then finally I just held her in bed and we both fell asleep for about 15 minutes before I woke up and put her in her own bed. This morning Joshua came in the kitchen, put his arms around me and jokingly said, "I'm tired and it's because of that damn baby. We love her though". I just smiled and said, "That's exactly what I had to keep telling myself last night when I got up for the one thousandth time - I love her...I love her...she will stay asleep this time...I love her".

I really shouldn't complain, she is a fantastic baby and at the moment very attached to me. I know there will be a day soon where she will want nothing to do with me and be attached to her daddy. I'm trying to soak in all of her love and smiles that she grants me with each day. I really enjoy the fact that she is currently a mommies girl (even if that means lack of sleep). Anyway... I can't express how much this little girl is changing my ways of thinking. I never knew you could love and care for someone as much as we do for her.
