Eye Wound
This morning when I was lying on the couch with Rory I received a battle wound. Rory was not satisfied with me just lying there with her - no, she wanted mommy to be just as awake as she was. It was not good enough that mommy would open her eyes and look at her every once and a while. Rory thought I should have my eyes open as well and for a few minutes sat there poking and prodding at my face - mostly my eyes. Well the last time I opened my eyes I was lucky enough (hardly) to get a tiny little finger with a tiny sharp nail jabbed into my eyeball.
Automatically I closed my eyes and began holding it while at the same time telling myself she's a live six month old and I can't throw her across the room like a rag doll. ---Not really. I actually I didn't think anything like that. To my surprise I was just focused on making sure she stayed on the couch while I tried not to cry.--- I picked up Rory and took her straight to Joshua and the proceeded to the bathroom to check my eye. After about an hour of torture in my eye I went back to sleep with Rory for about an hour. NOT SMART.
Upon waking up I realized that my eye was NOT any better, if anything it was worse. Joshua asked me if I needed to go to the ER and me being me said, " No. They are worthless and will do nothing". After moping about I finally agreed to put on an eye patch but of course we get to the inlaws and they don't have one. SO me and MJ headed to the walk in clinic in town. Surprisingly the total trip there was only an hour and a half long too which made me very happy because I was missing Mizzou play football.
Come to find out that little finger that had stabbed me about five hours prior had made a cut clear across my cornea. So now I'm using antibiotic drops for the next five days and have to wear an eye patch for a few days as well. The only good thing is that corneas heal quickly and should be healed within two to three days. **Sigh. I love being a mother but I didn't sign up to lose an eye!**
