New Shopping Method?

At the beginning of the week the hubby and I ran across some info from a local store here, one we shop at on occasion but not often because it's a bit pricier. What we came across was their Meat Bundle packs and we have decided to give two of them a shot. We know meat is expensive, it takes up half our budget every week so when we saw these bundle packs we couldn't not try. Here's a list of what we ended up getting today and the total was $102 after taxes.

Number 8 Chicken Pack
2# Chicken Breast ---- 2 Breasts
3# Chicken Legs ---- 10 Legs
8# Cut Up Fryers ---- (4) 1/2 Cut Up
4# Whole Fryer ---- (2) 1/2 Whole
3# Chicken Wings --- 24 Wings
2# Chicken Thighs ---- 4 Thighs
Total $50.00

Number 13 Value Bundle
4# Ground Beef --- 4 Packs
2# Pork Chops ---- 4 Chops
1# Beef Stew --- 1 Pack
2# Round Steaks --- 3 Steaks
3# Chuck Roast --- 2 Smaller Roasts
2# Pork Cutlets ---- 6 cutlets
Total $48.00

We are planning our meals around these specific meats now and are hoping that this lasts us at least two weeks if not longer. If you notice there are 12 different types on the list and some of those will be split into a few different meals, such as the ground beef and fryers. Keep in mind that these meats will only be used for dinners and then the leftovers will be had for lunch the next day.

As for the rest of our budget we are going to try to keep it between $20-$30 a week for items to go with these meats. It's going to take some time to get this all sorted out but we wanted to try. The meats are much better quality at the local markets and we are getting to the point where we are willing to pay for that.
