Swing!
So I went looking in a store known as Baby News here one day last week and to my surprise there was also a baby consignment store right next to it. Now this isn't just any consignment store...it's a going out of business consignment store! They just put out their notice about a week ago so the deals aren't all the great yet but I did find a Graco Lovin' Hug Swing for $40. So I came home and did some research on the retail cost and reviews...all that jazz. I decided $40 seemed like a pretty reasonable price considering everyone on craigslist is trying to sell them for around $60 and retail is anywhere from $100-$130+. Here are the stats on it...in case anyone is wondering.
- Curved frame design mimics a mother's arms for security and comfort
- Holds baby up to 30 lbs
- Mobile with three soft toys provide visual stimulation and requires no additional batteries
- Removable body support and infant head support for comfort and fit
- One hand, four-position recline adjusts for baby's comfort
- Five-point harness keeps baby secure
- Open top design allows easy access to baby
- Classical music and nature sounds
- Machine washable seat pad with extra cushioning
- Six variable speeds for baby's enjoyment
- Easy entry tray flips open with one hand
- 30-minute timer features three settings for automatic shutoff
- Folds for storage
Any who...I went back to the consignment shop today and picked up the swing. Here's a photo of it...
I think I did pretty well. Just wish it was a more gender neutral color in case we ever have a boy!
