Lining an Alligator Clip

Cut ribbon 7" - I usually cut a little longer just to be safe. Heat seal both ends of ribbon to prevent fraying.

Open clip and insert ribbon. Make sure it is centered on clip. You can start from either side but I do the side with the hump first.

Next you will take hot glue and make a line across top of clip and then press together gently. Be sure it doesn't get crooked as you are pressing. You should end up with something like this.

I then put a dab of hot glue on the two end piece and glue the ribbon to that. I do not care for the ones that aren't glued down because they pop out when you pinch the clip to open it. **Also - if you only want a partial lined clip just glue the end of the ribbon to the bottom of clip where you grasp it to open. That will leave the medal prong piece uncovered on the bottom - this is also why I start on the other side of clip as it leaves that option open. I would say you could make your ribbon an inch shorter also if wanting to do this method.

Now take the hot glue and make a small strip to where the clip as an opening. Do not go past this open or you will get glue on the other half of clip which will ruin the parts that lay on your hair. You should have something that looks like above photo.

Open up the clip and fold in the ribbon to make sure it fits. If it is too long simply clip some off and heat seal the end again. If it fits make a line of hot glue on the inside of clip and fold over the ribbon. Press the pieces together gently with your fingers as you did in the first part. Do not press hard or slide the ribbon as it will end up crooked and this is the side everyone will see.

You should end up with a clip that looks like this

This is the clip on a korker bow. Turned out pretty nice I think.
