Potty Training Step Two (for us)

A few months ago Rory started using the potty, at only 15 months old I knew there was no way she was completely ready to be potty trained so I just let her use it at her leisure. Today i started a new phase of potty training for her since she is now 19 months old. Today, she got to put on big girl panties and after going through 3 pairs in a little over an hour I stuck her back in a diaper and we took a trip to kmart.

Once we arrived at kmart I purchased to little potties for $7 a piece. They are different colors, one blue, one tan and very very basic seats. Nothing fancy or anything like that - why does my child need her toilet to play music? I didn't want different colors but because they only had one of each of those and I didn't want pink potties it's what we got. So now she has a potty in the living room and one in the entry way. Then we have the regular toilets in the house of course - think we are covered?

Anyway, she didn't potty in her 4th pair of panties so I decided that she could run naked for a bit. This method seems to be working better for her right now. She seems to have more control over herself - no accidents yet but it's not been terribly long just pooped on the floor, sigh. She will continue to be in her diaper when we go places, for naps and at night. I am guessing this will be for a while yet.

 We are taking a trip to Ohio at the end of October, when we get back from that potty training will be in full effect. I am hoping she will be potty trained by the time baby #2 arrives in April - she will be 26 months by then!

Two hours after sitting out the potties she went all on her own! She was so excited to tell me she did it :)
