Crock Pot Applesauce
Delicious pretty much sums up this post! I had quite a few apples and knew that if I didn't eat them soon they would end up in the trash so I went on the hunt for a good crock pot applesauce recipe. Here's the thing, people REALLY like sugar and cinnamon apparently so I took a really simple recipe and made it my own by cutting the sugar and cinnamon by nearly or over half. It is amazing!
Here's what you need
10-15 medium apples (I used 11 because that's what I had)
1/2 cup water
1/2 tsp cinnamon (you can omit this if you don't care for it)
1/3 Cup Sugar (This was literally a third of what others called for and honestly you could do less or none at all!)
Now for the hard (not really) part.
Peel and cut up your apples and then throw everything in the crock pot together. Let cook for 3hrs on high. Mine was actually done in 2hrs though.
And this my readers is what you end up with :) I always clean out my spaghetti jars to keep and I'm so glad that I do because it is the perfect container to keep all this yumminess in!

It would have filled up this 24oz jar but we kept a little out to eat for lunch. |
I was just getting ready to make some of this today too!
ReplyDeleteIt's so good! I just can't get over how much sugar people put into theirs!
