Big Girl Bed
The other day I decided after several weeks of consideration to take the side off of Rory's crib, turning it into a daybed. Napping went well, night time not so much. Soo I went and got a guard only to find out that they only fit twins and up. : / Sigh. What's a mom to do? Put the rail back on the bed of course.
Today, I decided to pull in the twin bed that we just inherited from the inlaws across the street. They took our queen (I thought it was a full but apparently it's not, so yes SIL, the bed you gave us actually isn't bigger and the other twin mattress is still in the garage when you need / want it) Anyway, now the little miss has a big twin bed with a guard on it. I'm really considering purchasing another one too because she always goes from one end of the bed to the other. All I need is for her to switch ends and then fall off. Daddy would have a cow. We will try it with just one for now though because guards are like $23 for a few bars and mesh cover.
I'm sure you are wondering why I just didn't keep her in the crib. Well, if you heard and or saw the way this child thrashes around in there you would know that she needs a wider bed. There hasn't been a single night the last few months that we haven't heard her throw herself against the side of the crib while sleeping! It is my hope that the wider twin will allow her to move but not induce bodily harm. We shall see.
She took a nap in it today after fighting sleep for about four hours. When she woke up she just wondered into the kitchen where I was. It was so odd to turn around and see her walking down the hall to me. I have had dreams about this since she was born. Next she will be wondering into our room at night. (Remind me tonight that I thought this was a grand idea!)

They grow up too quickly.
