Family Time
Yesterday, the G family all got together. There were the usual (no offense to the usual, I love you just the same) and then there were the ones that we don't get to spend enough time with. It made me realize that the family really doesn't spend enough time together. Two of them live in Cali for starters but are making plans to move here in the next few years. There is really no excuse for the rest of us not getting together. We all live within 45 minutes of one another. Family is so important. Who would we be, where would we be if we didn't have our families surrounding us?
Being with the hubby's side though always makes me lonesome for my family. My family is 10hrs away and I get to see them once or twice a year, unless it's my grandma who has like 2 months vacation and tries to come out two or three times now that Rory is here. This year I get to see them four times. February, Grandma was here in May, going to Ohio in July and then again towards the end of the year. I'm really excited about this year, I miss my family. So I'm making it my goal to make two trips to Ohio next year. My family deserves that. They need to see their niece, granddaughter, great granddaughter more than once a year (if they are lucky once a year).
With all that being said it has become one of my top priorities to get the family that I can together more often. It's summer time! We should be enjoying the company during cook outs, or at the farm or even at the parks. There are now 7 cousins between the ages of 3 months and 11 years that deserve to spend more time together. They deserve to have what we all had as kids growing up. A life filled with family, love and play. We must show them what family is about and not just what our little immediate families are about because they will be the ones who carry out everything we teach them.
I would love it if we got together for the 4th!! what do you guys have planned?
