1st Day of Tot School
We started tot school today. Some of you may remember I started it a few months ago, but that only lasted a short while. Being pregnant and trying to tackle that with a not even two year old then was silly. I decided to wait until now to start back up and I'm glad I did. Rory has grown up a lot in 6 months, mentally and physically!
I plan to semi follow the BFIAR method for now, Before Five In A Row. There are lots of places where I can find activities that go along with the books they use. A huge plus for us is that we already have several of the books on the list and those that we don't I can get from the library. I'm really excited to be starting.
Today we started with the book We're Going On A Bear Hunt by Micheal Rosen. We read the story, went looking for her big pink teddy bear (photos to come of him / her) and then sat down and tried drawing what a bear would look like. I plan to do one book per week with different activities each day.
In all honesty, I have no idea what is going to come of this. Rory just turned 2 1/2 August 11th but is eager to learn new things. She already knows her ABC's and can count to 15 all on her own. She knows her colors and shapes too (basic ones - nothing crazy like octagons and fuscia). I am looking forward to seeing her grow, and me as well as a mother during this process.
