30 Day Husband Encouragement Challenge
I'm going to be honest in this blog post, if you can't handle honesty....please move on to another post.
For the last few months, especially weeks, the husband and I have been butting heads. Our communication skills are lacking majorly, my sex drive took a nose dive when I got pregnant and hasn't really returned and we have a toddler who still doesn't sleep at night so I sleep in her room on a second twin bed we have set up in there. The hubby works Wed-Sun so even on my days off from watching other kids we don't get time together because our schedules are different. Most of the time I'm in bed by 9pm and the hubby travels in somewhere between 10-12pm and if he doesn't work the next days it's more like 1-2am.
The lid finally blew off the pot last week and now we are in recovery mode. I know you are probably thinking, "What?! That gorgeous ring didn't take care of all of your problems when you got it yesterday?!!". No, it didn't. Wish is was that easy.
Our goal this year is to be better at communicating with each other and he is doing much better than I am right now. I am just out of patience (I'm sure is has nothing to do with me being hormonal at almost 27wks pregnant, not sleeping and taking care of my non sleeping toddler but it's no excuse). As he likes to put it, "It's like we are roommates".
I don't want to be roommates - I want to be husband and wife, who love each other, talk and enjoy each others company. The people we were in the image below.
Well a few months ago I stumbled across something on pinterest. A 30 Day Husband Encouragement Challenge and today when I got on there to look for something similar I was pleasantly surprised to find that I still had it pinned under the board "Joshua". Guess I knew one day I would need this!
Each day focuses on a scripture based lesson that gives you an easy challenge to try to carry out the entire day, that will ultimately bless your husband. My challenge is starting today and I hope some of you take the time to follow the link below to start your own, not because you are having trouble in your relationship but because it's in your heart to do so. Encouragement is always great to get!
