Paleo Diet and Clean Eating

Tonight I will be making my first shopping trip for our up and coming Paleo / Clean Eating life style change. Why did I not pick one or the other? Well, we will still be eating some dairy and grains which is supposed to be taken out when on Paleo. We don't eat a lot of either one, except for cereal and bread. I love bread. 

Here is a list of differences. As you can see there aren't many.

Clean Eating
No preservatives, no fast food, no alcohol (say whaaat?)
No or limited dairy (depending on who you ask)

Eating food
in it’s most natural state
Nothing white (flour, sugar, rice, etc)
Avoid all things processed and refined
Lean protein and healthy fats (like those from nuts)
Lots and lots of organic fruits and vegetables.
Organic products
No preservatives, no fast food, no alcohol (say whaaat?)
No or limited dairy (depending on who you ask)

Paleo

No sugar (unless from fruit or natural sweeteners such as honey or agave nectar), no legumes, no grains, no gluten
No dairy
No preservatives, no fast food, no alcohol (say whaaat? again)
Nothing white (flour, sugar, rice, etc)
Avoid all things processed and refined

Lots of organic and grass fed lean meats
Lots of organic veggies and fruits
Lots of nuts and healthy fats
Consuming food in it’s most natural state


So far I have 9 days of paleo meals planned out. Most of those meals are meant to be used for lunch the next day. When the hubby gets home and approves of them all (we are trying a new method of menu planning. Both of us having an input. This has been hard for me. I like control of this. Maybe I'M the control freak and not the hubby.....shhh I never said that!). I am looking forward to trying these meals and I will be sure to update as I try them with the recipe I used and what it was like.
